Toteme Menswear Debut Collection Lands on 20 August 2026

The Toteme menswear debut collection has a launch date: 20 August 2026, according to Toteme’s Instagram. For a brand that has spent the better part of a decade building a devoted following around precise, unfussy dressing, the move into menswear feels less like a pivot and more like a logical next step.

Toteme was founded by Swedish couple Elin Kling and Karl Lindman, according to FashionUnited. The brand built its reputation on elevated basics: clean cuts, quality cloth, and a studied restraint that tends to age better than most trend-driven labels. Translating that into a menswear offer is not straightforward, and the founders were deliberate about who they brought in to do it.

The Designer Behind the Toteme Menswear Debut Collection

Alexander Häggblad, formerly head of menswear at Hedi Slimane’s Celine, was recruited to carry Toteme’s design language across to a male wardrobe. According to Jake Woolf’s Substack, Häggblad served as men’s design director at Celine until 2025, when he joined Toteme. FashionUnited reports that he has been collaborating with Karl Lindman in Sweden on the menswear development since March 2025, giving the project well over a year of gestation before anything reaches the shop floor.

That runway shows. The debut assortment is built around the same principles that made the womenswear credible: nothing extraneous, nothing forced. A boxy leather jacket in a buttery finish. A heavyweight peacoat with fabric-covered buttons. Shrunken shirting, including a contrast-collar striped cotton-poplin shirt. Kick-flare denim cut to sit somewhere between relaxed and tailored, neither too pale nor too washed out.

What the Collection Actually Contains

Beyond the separates, there is a knife-sharp double-breasted suit and croc-embossed loafers to wear with it, priced at $830. The signature scarf jacket, which put Toteme on the map, gets two new interpretations in the men’s line, and a scarf cardigan at $880 is also part of the drop. A zip leather jacket comes in at $2,880, the wool peacoat at $1,580, and the kick denim at $580. A cotton-blend trench coat at $1,520 rounds out the outerwear.

The pricing sits where you would expect for the Toteme level: considered purchases rather than impulse buys, with cost-per-wear logic baked in. A croc-effect leather belt at $510 is the kind of thing you buy once and wear with everything you already own.

The collection also includes a cotton-fleece zip-up hoodie at $670, D-frame acetate sunglasses at $510, and a boxy double-breasted jacket at $1,260 that works both as a suit component and as a standalone piece over kick-flare jeans.

What Häggblad and Lindman appear to have avoided is the common trap of menswear that borrows a womenswear brand’s aesthetic without understanding how men actually dress. The pieces here are not novelty items dressed up in Toteme’s colour palette. They are, by the look of them, clothes built to be worn repeatedly, in rotation, across seasons. That is exactly the brief Toteme set for itself from the beginning.

The Toteme menswear debut collection goes on sale on 20 August 2026, with pieces available via Toteme directly and through Mr Porter.
